East End Thrift Store: OH the Vintage!

If you’re like us, we love a good vintage thrift store, however finding one that is not completely out of our price range whilst still having quality items is a bit of a challenge till we found the East End Thrift Store.  Located on Mile End road down a cobblestone alley (not sketchy though) is a real find.  Look for the sign on the main pavement pointing you in the right direction and just follow the old path till you get to the small warehouse of amazing finds.  It is opposite the Genesis cinema before Stepney Green.  I can’t tell you how much C and I have purchased at this reliable shop.  Also, the staff is really nice and you will always get a good deal and also there is never any harm with a bit of bartering down.  I’ve managed to get a free scarf thrown into a purchase with a vintage charcoal blazer and a few other items.  You will also find perfect outfits for any fancy dress party.  We recently threw a ugly sweater party and East End came through with all our sweater needs.  I bought a lovely 80’s french parachute sleeve black/sliver threaded sweater with two giant purple and blue lions roaring into my chest and C bought a spectacular jeweled beast of a sweater dress with dangling accessories sewn on.

If you’re still not sold on the place, they usually have shopping parties every month or so with free alcohol including Champagne and music. I also just received an email update from them (yes you can even join their mailing list–be sure to do so when you go!) and they are having a Giant Vintage Jumble Sale where you can fill a bag for 10 or 20 pounds this Saturday and Sunday  6/7 June from 10am-7pm.  So be sure to check it out.  I know I will head down to get my bag full.

They will give you directions by phone if you’re lost.  We know because we wandered way off course to the point where they were quite worried about us but we made it eventually.

Happy Vintage shopping!!!!!  See you on Saturday!!!
